The Aalsmeer Flower Festival invites you to a lavish celebration of flowers and art, during the weekend of June 21, 22 and 23. Both locations, the Flower Art Museum and the Historical Garden, are packed with activities, including exhibitions of floral art and the opportunity to roll up your sleeves in various floral workshops.

200 hydrangea varieties at the Historical Garden

During the Aalsmeer Flower Festival, the hydrangea plays a leading role in the Historical Garden, partly thanks to the theme year dedicated to this flower. Visitors can enjoy an impressive variety of approximately 200 hydrangea species in full bloom. For an extra dimension to the experience, there are daily cruises with Westeinder Rondvaart from the Historical Garden, allowing visitors to discover the beauty of Aalsmeer from the water.

Japanese art at the Flower Art Museum

In the Flower Art Museum, floral art is carefully matched to the works of art present, with a special presentation of various ikebana styles on display during the festival. In addition, a specific art project around hydrangeas has been set up in the roof garden of the museum, which provides a unique view on the integration of flora in art projects.
