The year starts with festive carnival activities suitable for all ages. There are also fairs and sports events beginning, such as the Omloop van Zandvoort, a cycling event that starts at the Zandvoort circuit and then goes through the bulb region and Aalsmeer. Will you join in?
- January 25 – KCA Poetry Day and the start of the national Poetry Week – De Oude Veiling
- February 10 & 11 – On the 10th, the Poelgilderdam Children’s Carnival Parade takes place, starting at the Kudelstaart Community House. The Kudelstaart parade occurs on the following day, Carnival Sunday, February 11.

April through June
During spring, everything beautifully blooms in and around Aalsmeer. As the temperature gradually rises, more outdoor activities become possible. In addition to water sports in and around the Westeinderplassen, there’s plenty to experience in Aalsmeer. For instance, marvel at the colorful Spring Fair plant fair on the grounds of the Royal FloraHolland flower auction and enjoy the various activities organized on King’s Day.
- April 6 – Open day at various greenhouses during Kom in de Kas: take a peek inside the greenhouse and learn all about greenhouse farming. Marvel at the different types of flowers, plants, and cacti, including fun activities like scavenger hunts for kids – Aalsmeer and surroundings

July through September
