Cycling toward Schinkelbos
You will find Schinkelbos just outside Aalsmeer, past the town of Oude Meer. This forest is part of the area named “Groene As”, located on the southwest side of Amsterdam. This green axis forms an ecological connection between the natural areas of Amstelland, Spaarnwoude, and the Westeinderplassen. The cycle route from Aalsmeer to Schinkelbos takes about twenty minutes. The Schinkelbos is a beautiful untamed forest area with many cycling and hiking trails, where you can enjoy the budding blossoms during spring and the first green leaves after winter.

From Schinkelbos you can continue cycling to Amsterdamse Bos, or you can park your bike and walk into the forest. The Amsterdamse Bos is a large, versatile forest area with many paths and recreational facilities. During spring, the cherry blossom park is a popular hotspot with more than 400 cherry trees in bloom!
