The Veerdienst Ringvaart motor ferry allows cyclists and pedestrians to cross the Ringvaart in Aalsmeer. The Ringvaart is an important canal in the Haarlemmermeerpolder and runs past the village of Aalsmouderbrug, right next to Aalsmeer. Rijsenhout and Aalsmeer are connected by the ferry from the Uiterweg. Pedestrians, cyclists, and students use the ferry service regularly.
The Westeinderplassen recreational area is connected by the Ringvaart to the Kagerplassen, Nieuwe Meer, and even more lakes and canals. With one large and several small lakes, the Westeinderplassen forms a surprising and rich water area. In addition, during the high season from April 1 to October 31, the ferry service is also available on weekends, from 10:00 AM to 5:45 PM.
